RED RUBY is a short-day open pollinated red onion variety improved through mass selection for uniform, firm, globular shaped bulbs with excellent outer scale leaf retention and long-term storage. It is adapted to all onion growing areas and produces marketable yields ranging from 23 to 42 t/ha depending on soil types and climatic conditions. It is a versatile variety that offers opportunities for bulb, seed, sets and green onion production.
