Purpose

To encourage the local production of good quality compost, to rejuvenate the soil and to mitigate external shocks such as the availability and price of fertilizers

Grant Amount

50% grant up to a maximum of Rs 500,000

Eligibility Criteria

• Farmers holding a valid Small Farmers Welfare Fund Card
• Cooperatives should be duly registered
• Operating in the agro-industrial sector for at least one year over a minimum extent of:
  • 25 arpent – food crops/fruits/ornamentals
  • sheltered farming on not less than 250m²
• Minimum Composting capacity of 5m³
• Submit a Project Proposal
• Holder of title deed or registered lease agreement for a minimum of 3 years post application
• Holder of the relevant permits/licences, where applicable
• Have proof of funding for the remaining amount
• Eligible for set-up of infrastructure and purchase of equipment
