Purpose

Enabling breeders to purchase heifers/pregnant heifers/cows of genetically improved breeds.

Grant Amount

A 50% cash grant, up to a maximum of Rs 75,000 per head for a maximum of Rs. 225,000 for imported cattle for breeding.

Beneficiaries

Registered breeders and Companies engaged in agricultural production.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Holder of a valid Small Farmers Welfare Fund Card
  • Operating in the agro-industrial sector for at least one year or should have completed a training course on proposed breeding project at FAREI
  • Holder of title deed or registered lease agreement for a minimum of 3 years post application
  • Have proof of funding for the remaining amount
  • Import permit from DVS
