Purpose

Encouraging farmers engaged in crop production activities as well as agro-entrepreneurs to acquire farm machinery/equipment for mechanisation of their production system and also venture in food processing or other value-addition activities.

Grant Amount

• 50% grant up to a maximum of MUR 300,000 for the purchase of agricultural equipment

Eligibility Criteria

1. Operating in the agro-industrial sector for at least one year over a minimum extent of:
   • 0.25 arpent – food crops/fruits/ornamentals under open field condition
   • 0.1 arpent lettuce/aromatic herbs and greens
   • sheltered farming on not less than 250m2
2. Agro-processors should bear a Business Registration Card
3. Holder of title deed or registered lease agreement for a minimum of 3 years post-application
4. Holder of the relevant permits/licences, where applicable
5. Applicant may apply for more than once up to three applications for a maximum of MUR 300,000 within a period of 3 years
