Purpose

Encouraging farmers to shift from traditional open field cultivation to sheltered farming system. This will enable farmers to mitigate effects of adverse climatic conditions; leverage production capacity and improve quality of farm produce.

Grant Amount

50% grant up to a maximum of Rs 500,000 per structure for a maximum of two structures.

Eligibility Criteria

• Holder of a valid Small Farmers Welfare Fund Card
• Operating in the agro-industrial sector for at least one year over a minimum extent of:
  • 5 arpent food crops/fruits
  • 25 arpent fine herbs/ornamentals
  • sheltered farming on not less than 250m²
• New comers should have completed a training course in Hydroponics/sheltered farming at FAREI
• Holder of title deed or registered lease agreement for a minimum of 3 years post-application for land hosting the project
• The proposed sheltered farming should be at least 250m².
• Holder of a Building & Land Use Permit (BLUP), where applicable.
• Have proof of funding for the remaining amount
• For Cooperative/Companies- Turnover should not exceed Rs 10M.
• Only one spouse is eligible for the application
• Those who have already benefitted for this scheme twice are not eligible.
