The Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (FAREI) is a Parastatal body established under section 3 of the FAREI Act 2013, with objects and functions enshrined under sections 4 and 5 respectively of the FAREI Act 2013.

The FAREI manages a Livestock Research Station at Curepipe which produces around 300 litres of fresh cow milk daily.

The FAREI hereby invites companies/cooperative societies/farmers involved in milk processing activities to express their interest to purchase fresh raw cow milk from the Curepipe Livestock Research Station.

Interested parties are requested to call at FAREI Head Office, Réduit, during office hours to collect the prescribed form or download it from FAREI’s website (farei.mu). The duly filled application form, submitted in a sealed envelope addressed to the Chief Executive Officer, should be marked “Expression of Interest for Purchase of Milk from FAREI” and deposited in the Tender box located at FAREI Head Office, Réduit, not later than 24 July 2025 at 13.30 hours at latest.

The attention of prospective applicants is drawn to the fact that this Expression of Interest does not mean that FAREI has any contractual obligation towards them nor does it entitle them to become exclusive buyers of that commodity from FAREI.
