A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (FAREI) and Polytechnics Mauritius Ltd (PML) on Wednesday the 19th July 2023 at the Head Office of FAREI, Réduit with the aim to boost productivity, competitiveness, and self-sufficiency in agricultural production.
The Chairperson of FAREI, Mr Hemraj Woodun and the Chairperson of PML, Prof. Theesan Bahorun signed the MOU in the presence of Mrs Micheline Seenevassen Pillay, Ag Chief Executive Officer of FAREI, and Mr Yamal Matabudul, Chief Executive Officer of PML.
The objectives of this MOU are to establish a joint collaboration in development and delivery of training programmes, conducting research projects, professional assistances and consultancies.
Both organisations shares common goals and will work together with the aim to professionalise the farming sector with latest skills and knowledge, and meet the industry’s demands.
The first course that would be implemented is on Aquaponics.
