Venue: TBC

The Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute (FAREI) is pleased to announce the upcoming 2nd edition of the Agricultural Science Exchange Forum (ASEF 2), scheduled to take place on October 12-13, 2023. With the central theme of “Transforming Agrifood Systems through Research and Innovation for Resilience,” this forum aims to provide a dynamic platform for researchers, practitioners, and industry experts to engage in robust discussions, exchange innovative ideas, and foster collaborations that will shape the future of agrifood systems.

About the Event: The Agricultural Science Exchange Forum is dedicated to exploring the pivotal role of research and innovation in advancing the resilience of agrifood systems. In a rapidly changing world, where challenges such as climate change, resource constraints, and shifting consumer preferences abound, it has become increasingly important to harness the power of science and innovation to ensure the sustainability, productivity, and adaptability of agrifood systems.

We invite researchers, scholars, and experts from various disciplines to submit abstracts that align with the following sub themes.

  1. Sustainable Agriculture and Food Systems: Focus on promoting sustainable practices in agriculture and food production, including environmentally friendly farming methods, such as agroecology, reducing food waste, and ensuring food security for the future
  2. Innovative Agricultural practices: Explore novel technologies and innovative practices that enhance productivity such as latest developments in crop breeding, genetic engineering, and biotechnology to improve crop yields, disease resistance, and nutritional content and resource efficiency.
  3. Resilience to climate change: Showcase research on climate-smart agriculture, drought and flood management, crop diversification, and resilient farming systems to address the challenges posed by a changing climate.
  4. Digital Agriculture: Present AI-driven solutions, remote sensing, data analytics, IoT applications, and that optimize production, supply chains, and decision-making processes.
  5. Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services in Agriculture: Explore the importance of preserving biodiversity in agricultural landscapes and the positive impacts on ecosystem services
  6. Innovative and Sustainable livestock production: Share research outcome and best practices aiming at increasing milk and meat production
  7. Knowledge Transfer Strategies: Empowering farmers for a sustainable agricultural development.
  8. Challenges and Opportunities in Agribusiness: Explore the latest trends and challenges in agribusiness, including market trends, supply chain management, and agro-processing.

Submission guidelines: Abstracts should be submitted electronically through the official event website no later than 15 September 2023.
