Outstanding Qualities
• Early maturing variety
• Uniform fall over of leaves
• Suitable for storage
• High yield potential
Irati is an early maturing yellow onion variety with a uniform fall over of leaves at maturity. The bulbs are globular, uniform and very firm. They have excellent storability due to their good scale retention. The yield is comparable to the currently recommended hybrid varieties that are cultivated locally. Irati adapts well to all onion growing regions with the exception of coastal regions having a sandy soil. It is suitable for transplanting, direct sowing and multi-seeded planting technique.
