Subject to satisfactory service, candidates may be offered substantive appointment.<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>I AGE LIMIT<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Candidates unless already employed in the public service or in parastatal organisations should not have reached their <strong>45th<\/strong> birthday by the closing date for the submission of applications.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>II. QUALIFICATIONS<\/strong><\/span><br \/>A Cambridge School Certificate with credit in at least five subjects including English Language and any science subject obtained on one certificate or Passes not below Grade C in at least five subjects including English Language and any science subject obtained on one certificate at the General Certificate of Education \u201cOrdinary Level\u201d or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Note 1<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Candidates not possessing a credit in English Language at the Cambridge School Certificate will also be considered provided they possess passes in at least two subjects at \u201cPrincipal Level\u201d and one subject at \u201cSubsidiary Level\u201d as well as the General Paper obtained on one certificate at the Cambridge Higher School Certificate Examinations.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>III. SALARY<\/strong><\/span><br \/>The temporary appointment will carry flat salary at the rate of Rs 18,375 a month. <br \/>The permanent and pensionable post carries salary in scale:<br \/>Rs 18375 x 275 &#8211; 18925 x 300 &#8211; 19525 x 325 &#8211; 21475 x 375 &#8211; 22225 x 400 &#8211; 23425 x 525 &#8211; 26050 x 675 &#8211; 27400 x 825 &#8211; 35650 x 900 &#8211; 37450 x 950 &#8211; 38400 (FAREI 21)<\/p><p><strong>IV. LIST OF DUTIES<\/strong><br \/>1. To be responsible for \u2013<\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">(i) the day-to-day organisation and supervision of field activities on stations and laboratories; and<br \/>(ii) artificial insemination, assessment of pregnancy and care of livestock.<\/p><p>2. To record attendance of, and distribute work to the labour force.<br \/>3. To prepare paysheets and other claims for workers.<br \/>4. To keep minor stores and tools store under supervision.<br \/>5. To keep records in appropriate ledgers.<br \/>6. To undertake simple routine laboratory operations and assist research staff whenever required.<br \/>7. To participate in on-farm research activities.<br \/>8. To use ICT in the performance of his duties.<br \/>9. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or to the delivery of output and results expected from the Research Support Officer in the roles ascribed to him.<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Research Support Officers may be required to <br \/>(i) work on a roster basis: including Saturdays and Sundays, public holidays and on officially declared cyclone days; and<br \/>(ii) to reside in quarters, if available, when posted to a Station.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>V. MODE OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Qualified candidates are kindly requested to call during working hours at the Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute, Head Office, Reduit to collect the application form or to download the application form from the website of FAREI (farei.mu). <br \/>Instructions to candidates:<br \/>1. Only application made on the prescribed form will be accepted.<br \/>2. Incomplete, inadequate or inaccurate filling of the form will lead to disqualification and elimination of the candidate.<br \/>3. Applicant should possess all certificates\/qualifications at time of application.<br \/>4. Copy of certificates and Identity Card must be attached to the application form.<br \/>5. Documentary evidence will have to be submitted for experience claimed &amp; should be attached at the time of application.<br \/><strong>6. The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualification (if applicable) from the relevant authorities (Tertiary Education Commission or Mauritius Qualifications Authority) rests on the candidates. Applications will not be considered failing the non-submission of Equivalence Certificate, as appropriate, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">by the closing date.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>7. The post applied for should be clearly marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.<br \/><strong>8.
