Subject to satisfactory service, candidates may be offered substantive appointment.<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>I AGE LIMIT<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Candidates unless already employed in the public service or in parastatal organisations should not have reached their <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>45th<\/strong><\/span> birthday by the closing date for the submission of applications.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>II. QUALIFICATIONS <\/strong><\/span><br \/>By selection from among serving officers who hold a substantive appointment and who \u2013 <br \/>(i) have successfully completed all papers of Fundamentals (Knowledge) and Paper F4 of Fundamentals (Skills) of the ACCA Examinations<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>or<\/strong><\/span><br \/>(ii) have obtained the Certificate in Business Accounting (Foundation Level) of the CIMA Examinations (New Syllabus)<br \/>or<br \/>(iii) possess equivalent qualifications to (i) and (ii) above acceptable to the Board.<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>NOTE<\/strong><\/span><br \/>In the absence of qualified serving officers, by selection from among candidates who \u2013<br \/>A. (i) have successfully completed all papers of Fundamentals (Knowledge) and Paper F4 of Fundamentals (Skills) of the ACCA Examinations<br \/><strong>or<\/strong><br \/>(ii) have obtained the Certificate in Business Accounting (Foundation Level) of the CIMA Examinations (New Syllabus)<br \/><strong>OR<\/strong><br \/>Equivalent qualifications to A (i) and A (ii) above acceptable to the Board.<br \/>B. Candidates should be computer literate.<br \/>Candidates should produce written evidence of knowledge claimed.<\/p><p><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>III. SALARY<\/strong><\/span><br \/>The temporary appointment will carry flat salary at the rate of Rs19,850 a month.<br \/>The permanent and pensionable post carries salary in scale:<br \/>Rs19,850 x 325 \u2013 21,475 x 375 \u2013 22,225 x 400 \u2013 23,425 x 525 \u2013 26,050 x 675 \u2013 27,400 x 825 \u2013 35,650 x 900 \u2013 37,450 x 950 \u2013 42,200 x 1,300 \u2013 46,100 (FAREI 26)<\/p><p><br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>IV. LIST OF DUTIES<\/strong><\/span><br \/>1. To be responsible to the Internal Auditor\/Senior Internal Auditor in matters relating to audit operations at the FAREI.<br \/>2. To carry out internal audit in Finance, stores, transport and other operations of the FAREI in accordance with internal audit programmes and procedures.<br \/>3. To ensure that financial accounting and stores regulations are correctly applied and fully complied with.<br \/>4. To report on any discrepancy or irregularity.<br \/>5. To devise ways and means to improve the system of checking with a view to preventing fraud, duplication of work and exercising better internal control.<br \/>6. To examine payments of accounts cheques and orders, paysheets and payrolls, stores and stationery, revenue derived from all sources, receipts.<br \/>7. To check and vouch documents relating to all issues and receipts.<br \/>8. To supervise the work of subordinate staff.<br \/>9. To provide training and guidance to subordinate staff.<br \/>10. To exercise proper control on asset registers of plants and machinery, tools and equipment.<br \/>11. To use ICT in the performance of his duties.<br \/>12. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Internal Control Officer\/Senior Internal Control Officer in the roles ascribed to him.<\/p><p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>V. MODE OF APPLICATION<\/strong><\/span><br \/>Qualified candidates may collect the application form during working hours at the Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute, Head Office, Reduit or may download the application form from the website of FAREI (farei.mu). <br \/><strong>Instructions to candidates:<\/strong><br \/>1. Only application made on the prescribed form will be accepted.<br \/>2. Incomplete, inadequate or inaccurate filling of the form will lead to disqualification and elimination of the candidate.<br \/>3. Applicant should possess all certificates\/qualifications at time of application.<br \/>4. Copy of certificates, and Identity Card must be attached to the application form.<br \/>5. Documentary evidence will have to be submitted for experience claimed &amp; should be attached at the time of application.<br \/>6. <strong>The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualification (if applicable) from the relevant authorities (Tertiary Education Commission or Mauritius Qualifications Authority) rests on the candidates. Applications will not be considered failing the non-submission of Equivalence Certificate, as appropriate, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">by the closing date<\/span>.<\/strong><br \/>7.
