Subject to satisfactory service, candidates may be offered substantive appointment.<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>Candidates who submitted an application for the post of Biometrician\/Senior Biometrician, advertised on 05 November 2022, need not resubmit a fresh application<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">I. AGE LIMIT<\/span><\/strong><br \/>Candidates unless already employed in the public service or in parastatal organisations should not have reached their <strong>45th<\/strong> birthday by the closing date for the submission of applications.<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">II. QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/strong><br \/>A. A degree in Biometry or Statistics or Mathematical Statistics or Agricultural Statistics from a recognised institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.<br \/>B. At least three years\u2019 experience in Biometry and one year experience in computerised data analysis and applications of microcomputers in statistics.<br \/>Candidates should produce written evidence of experience claimed.<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">III. SALARY<\/span><\/strong><br \/>The temporary appointment will carry flat salary at the rate of Rs 28,225 a month. The permanent and pensionable post carries salary in scale:<br \/>Rs 28,225 x 875 \u201335,650 x 900 \u2013 37,450 x 950 \u2013 42,200 x 1,300 \u2013 46,100 x 1,575 \u2013 49,250 x 1650 \u2013 54,200 x 1,700 \u2013 64,400 x 1,800 \u2013 69,800 (FAREI 39).<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">IV. LIST OF DUTIES<\/span><\/strong><br \/>1. To undertake the statistical design of experiments, sample surveys, case studies and other data collection operations.<br \/>2. To analyse and process data and assist in the interpretation of results.<br \/>3. To assist in the preparation of yearly work programme and budget allocations.<br \/>4. To promote the application of sound statistical principles in the collection and processing of data.<br \/>5. To assist in the development of statistical tools for the monitoring and forecasting of agricultural production and development.<br \/>6. To produce scientific papers, technical and administrative reports and assist in the formulation and preparation of extension messages.<br \/>7. To attend Boards and Committees, as and when required.<br \/>8. To use ICT in the performance of his duties.<br \/>9. To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the Biometrician\/Senior Biometrician in the roles ascribed to him.<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">V. MODE OF APPLICATION<\/span><\/strong><br \/>Qualified candidates may collect the application form during working hours at the Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute, Head Office, Reduit or may download the application form from the website of FAREI (farei.mu).<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">NOTE<\/span><\/strong><br \/>The Notice of Vacancy and the application form as well as other details regarding qualifications, duties of the post are available on the website of the Food and Agricultural Research Institute (FAREI) at farei.mu<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Instructions to candidates are<\/span><\/strong>:<br \/>1. Only application made on the prescribed form will be accepted.<br \/>2. Incomplete, inadequate or inaccurate filling of the form will lead to disqualification and elimination of the candidate.<br \/>3. Applicant should possess all certificates\/qualifications at time of application.<br \/>4. Copy of certificates and Identity Card must be attached to the application form.<br \/>5. Documentary evidence will have to be submitted for experience claimed &amp; should be attached at the time of application.<br \/><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualification (if applicable) from the relevant authorities (Tertiary Education Commission or Mauritius Qualifications Authority) rests on the candidates. Applications will not be considered failing the non-submission of Equivalence Certificate, as appropriate, by the closing date.<\/span><\/strong><br \/>7. The post applied for should be clearly marked on the top left-hand corner of the envelope.<br \/><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">8.
