54th anniversary of Independence and 30th anniversary of the Republic of Mauritius, a flag raising ceremony was held at the Farmers\u2019 Training School of FAREI at Wooton, on the 11<sup>th<\/sup> March 2022 at 9 am.<\/p><p>The Minister of Agro-industry and Food Security Honorable Maneesh Gobin honored the function in the presence of the Chairman and the staff of FAREI.<\/p><p>The Ag CEO Mrs M M Seeneevassen Pillay welcomed all the invitees and she stressed the crucial role of FAREI towards sustainable food production.<\/p><p>On this occasion, the honorable Minister of Agro-industry and Food Security emphasised on the sustainability of the food security due to the pressing challenges of climate change and COVID 19 pandemic.<\/p><p>He pointed out the importance of judicious use of our resources particularly in the context of the world conflict which has led to scarcity and soaring price of all inputs.<\/p><p>To give more impetus to the celebration of our national day, the honorable Minister stressed how it is crucial to safeguard and maintain the sovereignty of our
