Subject to satisfactory service, candidates may be offered substantive appointment<\/strong><\/p><p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>I. AGE LIMIT<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p>Candidates unless already employed in the public service or in parastatal organisations should not have reached their <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>40th<\/strong><\/span> birthday by the closing date for submission of applications.<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">II. QUALIFICATIONS<\/span><\/strong> <\/p><p>A. A degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or Information Systems from a recognised institution or an equivalent qualification acceptable to the Board.<br \/>B. At least three years\u2019 post qualification experience in deploying applications with hands on experience.<br \/>C. Candidates should \u2013<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (i) have a good understanding of networking and security technologies and management of network applications such as emails, intranets, Domain Name System;<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0(ii) possess good organising, interpersonal and communication skills; and<br \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 (iii) be result-oriented, self-motivated and have the ability to work in a team.<\/p><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">III. SALARY<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>The temporary appointment will carry flat salary at the rate of Rs29,875 a month. The permanent and pensionable post carries salary in scale:<br \/>Rs 29875 x 825 &#8211; 35650 x 900 &#8211; 37450 x 950 &#8211; 42200 x 1300 &#8211; 46100 x 1575 &#8211; 49250 x 1650 &#8211; 54200 x 1700 &#8211; 64400 x 1800 \u2013 69800 (FAREI 40)<\/p><p><strong>IV. LIST OF DUTIES<\/strong><\/p><ol><li>To maintain the management information system.<\/li><li>To ensure high availability, performance and security of systems\/applications at the FAREI.<\/li><li>To perform system, and network management and administration.<\/li><li>To co-ordinate repairs and preventive maintenance of hardware and systems software.<\/li><li>To establish training programmes to meet FAREI\u2019s need in IT and assist management in the design of software programme for presentation on FAREI activities.<\/li><li>To advise management on the IT strategy of the organisation and to conduct analysis of user needs for development of application software.<\/li><li>To provide guidance and assistance to FAREI staff in IT related activities in the organisation.<\/li><li>To design, develop, implement and support FAREI\u2019s website.<\/li><li>To integrate FAREI\u2019s website with back-office systems and update the website.<\/li><li>To carry out assessments of applicants and registered firms under the National System Certification Scheme\/ISMS.<\/li><li>To develop and implement proper security policies and standards and manage and monitor enterprise security systems such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems and anti-virus system.<\/li><li>To carry out internal audits of the quality systems of FAREI laboratories.<\/li><li>To promote IT standards and activities implemented by FAREI.<\/li><li>To perform such other duties directly related to the main duties listed above or related to the delivery of the output and results expected from the IT Officer\/Systems Administrator in the roles ascribed to him.<\/li><\/ol><p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">V. MODE OF APPLICATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p>Qualified candidates are kindly requested to call during working hours at the Food and Agricultural Research and Extension Institute, Head Office, Reduit to collect the application form or to download the application form from the website of FAREI (farei.mu).<\/p><p>Instructions to candidates are:<\/p><ol><li>Only application made on the prescribed form will be accepted.<\/li><li>Incomplete, inadequate or inaccurate filling of the form will lead to disqualification and elimination of the candidate.<\/li><li>Applicant should possess all certificates\/qualifications at time of application.<\/li><li>Copy of certificates and Identity Card must be attached to the application form.<\/li><li>Documentary evidence will have to be submitted for experience claimed &amp; should be attached at the time of application.<\/li><li><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The onus for the submission of equivalence of qualification (if applicable) from the relevant authorities (Tertiary Education Commission or Mauritius Qualifications Authority) rests on the candidates.
