A Mild Nutty Tasting Mushroom
- Yellow coloured
- Soft texture
- Mild nutty taste when cooked
Oyster Mushrooms (Pleurotus spp.) are edible, nutritious and mildly flavoured mushrooms with several health benefits including cholesterol reduction, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. The Yellow Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus citrinopileatus) also known as Golden Oyster mushroom grows well in warm climates and produces clusters of numerous yellow coloured delicate caps with merging thin white stems. The bright yellow coloured caps lose their colour on cooking and have a mild nutty taste.
Shelf Life: Depending on the type of pack used, yellow oyster mushroom can be kept for 8 to 15 days at 4-5 °C. Optimal storage is achieved in 30 – micron LDPE (Low-density polyethylene) and clip on packs.
