Expression of Interest- Seed Production under the Quality Declared Seed Scheme (Cucumber and Squash)

The Ministry is inviting applications from planters interested to embark on the production of seeds of cucumber and squash under the Quality Declared Seed Scheme (QDS).
Interested planters should be registered with the Small Farmers Welfare Fund and should have experience in cucumber and squash seed production and/or cucumber and squash production.
Upon selection, they will be required to sign a Contract Agreement with the Agricultural Services of the Ministry and will have to comply with the cucumber and squash seed production protocol set up for the QDS.
The seeds produced under the QDS will be subject to quality control
measures to ensure conformity with the minimum standards set for cucumber and squash seeds and will be purchased by the Ministry for processing as seeds.
Expression of interest should be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked “Seed Production under the QDS,” to the Senior Chief Executive, Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security at the address given below at latest by 18 July 2019.
The Ministry reserves the right to annul the above exercise without causing prejudice to any applicant.
